About Robby Carroll
Robby brings rich life experience to his profession as a counselor and facilitator. After graduation from the University of South Carolina, Robby pursued careers in the travel industry and the building and supply business. At age 34, Robby attended Columbia Theological Seminary graduating in 1981. After graduation, he completed an internship and residency in Pastoral Care and Counseling at Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia. In his residency, he led groups in Psychiatry, Pediatrics and Oncology units for families, patients and staff.
Robby has served on the staff of three Atlanta-area churches, where his focus was counseling and pastoral care. Most recently, Robby served as an Associate for Pastoral Care and Counseling at Shallowford Presbyterian Church for 15 years. He also served as Director of the Shallowford Family Counseling Center through its evolution to the Shallowford Center for Mindful Living in 2023, where he currently serves as a facilitator for various healing circles and classes.

Robby has extensive experience in alcohol and drug treatment. He has led support groups in Atlanta and Marietta Georgia for Willingway Hospital since 2004. These groups are held weekly for recovering addicts and their families. He was hired by the Salvation Army Southern Territory to assist them in developing programs in their Adult Rehabilitation Centers in the southern territory. Robby also is a trained interventionist, so he works with families and individual who are struggling with addiction.
Robby and Jane have been married since 1968 and have two children and three grandchildren. They tragically lost their son after a long struggle with mental illness and addiction. Robby is grateful for all he has learned from his extensive education and training but mostly for his life experience of dealing with the agony and ecstasy of life.
